Stucco Repair & Crack Repair in the Capital Region
Hard-coat cement stucco on homes, chimneys, foundations and commercial buildings — cracks, bulges, spalls and stains repaired and refinished.
Stucco problems we handle
- Cracks from settlement, freeze-thaw and missing control joints
- Bulging or loose stucco and spalled corners
- Stucco on chimneys, parging on foundations and site walls
- Water staining and efflorescence
- Re-skim coats and new finish over sound, old stucco
- Elastomeric coatings for walls with lots of fine cracks
Our process
We sound the wall and remove anything loose back to solid material. We repair lath and flashing where needed, then rebuild in layers with proper cure time. The finish is matched to the existing texture. Where cracks keep coming back, we add control joints or switch to an elastomeric finish that can move with the wall.
Chimneys and foundations
Stucco-covered chimneys take the worst weather on the house. We check the crown and flashing at the same time, because that is usually where the water starts. Foundation parging is patched, re-skimmed and sealed.

Questions
Should cracked stucco be patched or replaced?
Most cracked stucco can be repaired. Replacement is only needed when large areas are loose or the lath and sheathing behind it are damaged. We test before we recommend.
Why do stucco cracks come back?
Usually because the cause wasn’t fixed — no control joints, movement in the framing, or water behind the wall. We address the cause and, where needed, use a flexible finish.
Do you repair stucco on chimneys?
Yes, including the crown and flashing check that should go with it.
